2nd Blog Post ~ The Hunger Games
On Monday I started reading a book called the hunger games and it really got me interested because a wide variety of people did book reports on them so I figured I would check it out. So within the first couple of pages I became very interested, even though I'm not through with the first chapter I learned a lot. So this girl named Katnis lives in an area known as the Panem and this is where North America was before a war. Katnis lives with her mother and sister and before her father died he taught her how to hunt and enter the woods without getting caught. Katniss goes hunting daily with her best friend Peeta who gave her family food while they were starving. The hunger games is a way that the Capitol controls people of the districts (Katniss lives in the 12th district). Because people tried to rebel, every year each district has to "sacrifice" a boy and a girl between 12 and 18 to fight in an arena until death. Katniss holds a grudge against her mother because after her father died her mother became depressed and stopped being a mother and forced Katniss to take care of her mother, her sister, Primrose, and herself so now Primrose is the only person she is certain she loves.

What was it about the book blogs about The Hunger Games that got you intrigued enough to start to read the series?
ReplyDeleteIf I had just heard what the books were about and I had not gotten a recommendation to read the first book from the librarian, I would never have picked up the book - but I did enjoy the two that I have read. Was it the description of the story or the enthusiasm that urged you to read this?
Actually I was referring to the small books we made about books and I actually decided to read it because so many people liked it so I figured why not try it out?!
